Modern Slavery Statement
Modern Slavery Statement for Man with Van Soho
This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps taken by Man with Van Soho to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our business operations and supply chains. Man with Van Soho operates as a professional removals and transport service and is committed to conducting business in an ethical, transparent, and responsible manner.
Modern slavery is a serious crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. It includes slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour, and human trafficking. We recognise that the removals and logistics sector can be exposed to risks in areas such as agency labour, subcontracted services, and goods procurement. We are determined to play our part in eliminating these abuses.
Our Zero-Tolerance Policy
Man with Van Soho operates a clear and strict zero-tolerance policy towards modern slavery and human trafficking. We will not knowingly engage with, support, or do business with any individual, organisation, or supplier involved in such practices.
All directors, employees, and workers associated with Man with Van Soho are required to act with integrity and to support our commitment to fair working conditions, lawful employment practices, and respect for human rights. Any form of coercion, exploitation, debt bondage, or withholding of wages or identification documents is completely unacceptable within our business and across our supply chains.
Our Supply Chains and Supplier Audits
Our supply chains include vehicle leasing and maintenance providers, fuel and equipment suppliers, recruitment and labour agencies, and subcontracted transport partners. We aim to work only with reputable suppliers who share our values and comply with applicable laws and regulations.
To support this aim, we are developing and implementing supplier due diligence procedures and proportional audits. These include assessing suppliers against ethical criteria, requesting confirmation of their own measures to combat modern slavery, and reserving the right to conduct checks or request evidence of compliance. Where risks are identified, we will seek improvement plans, and if necessary, review or terminate the relationship.
New suppliers will be subject to screening that considers their labour practices, use of temporary or migrant workers, and transparency of ownership. Existing suppliers may be re-assessed on a periodic basis or where there is reason to believe that standards may not be met.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
Man with Van Soho encourages all employees, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to report any concerns or suspicions of modern slavery or human trafficking connected to our business. We are committed to ensuring that reports are taken seriously, handled sensitively, and investigated appropriately.
Concerns can be raised through internal reporting channels to management or senior leadership. We will not tolerate any form of victimisation, retaliation, or disadvantage against individuals who report concerns in good faith, whether or not those concerns are ultimately substantiated.
Where allegations involve a potential criminal offence or serious risk to individuals, we will consider notifying relevant authorities and cooperating fully with any investigations.
Training, Awareness, and Responsibilities
Responsibility for overseeing our modern slavery approach sits with the leadership of Man with Van Soho. Managers are expected to promote awareness of this Statement and ensure that relevant procedures are followed within their teams.
We are working to build awareness of modern slavery risks among staff whose roles involve recruitment, supplier selection, and contract management. This includes guidance on recognising warning signs, understanding our zero-tolerance position, and knowing how to escalate concerns.
Annual Review and Continuous Improvement
This Modern Slavery Statement will be reviewed annually by Man with Van Soho. As part of this review, we will assess the effectiveness of our measures, including supplier due diligence, audits, and reporting channels, and consider any changes in legislation, best practice, and risk profile.
Where necessary, we will update our policies, training materials, and supplier requirements to strengthen our approach. Our aim is continuous improvement in identifying risks, increasing transparency, and ensuring that our business is not linked in any way to modern slavery or human trafficking.
This Statement has been approved by the leadership of Man with Van Soho and reflects our ongoing commitment to operating ethically and responsibly.
